Our unique suction handles were spotted on BBC 2 on Tuesday night (9th January 2018), in the hands of some of the country’s top surgeons at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

In the first episode of the new documentary series “Surgeons: At the Edge of Life”, maxillofacial surgeons Tim Martin and Sat Parmar complete a marathon operation to remove a facial tumour – with a little help from our Single Use Professional suction handles.

53-year-old Teresa was diagnosed with a fast-growing cancerous tumour in her face and has just weeks to live unless it is removed. The procedure involves radical surgery to the entire right-hand side of her face, and means she will lose both her upper jaw and right eye.

The series goes beyond the theatre doors of the surgical unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where 700 operations a week take place across 42 theatres. While many operations are vital but routine, this series focuses on some of the country’s top surgeons as they perform high-stakes surgery, pushing the boundaries of modern medicine to its very limits.
